Hero – Deutsch B2 Beruf is a native iOS app for learning professional German at B2 level. It helps you build vocabulary for the workplace and Berufssprachkurs: structured chapters, verbs and adjectives with prepositions, flashcards with spaced repetition, and tools to track your progress.

The app includes three main areas: General Words (12 lessons with job-related topics), Verbs with Prepositions (lists by preposition such as an, auf, bei, …), and Adjectives with Prepositions. You can open word lists, read explanations and examples, add your own translations, and practice with flashcards.

In Study mode you review words as flashcards. The app uses spaced repetition: words you find harder come back sooner; words you know well appear less often. Your answers are saved so you can continue where you left off after closing the app.

You can practice each word in three modes: Translation (your own or suggested translation), Explanation (short German explanation), and Synonym (related words). Switch modes in Study to train different skills.

The free version lets you explore the app with limited practice content: General Words lesson 1, and the "an" sections for verbs and adjectives. Hero Pro unlocks all lessons and preposition lists, full flashcard practice, My Words (personal vocabulary), and extended Word of the Day sources. You can upgrade anytime from the paywall or Settings → Your plan.

Favorites let you bookmark words from any list for quick review. My Words is your personal vocabulary: add, edit, and delete your own entries (Hero Pro). Both can be used in Study and appear in global search. You can export word lists as PDF from supported screens.

The Cockpit tab shows your learning overview: progress across vocabulary, statistics, Word of the Day settings, and shortcuts to keep learning. You can focus progress on app vocabulary or on My Words.

Word of the Day highlights one vocabulary item on the home header and in the widget. You can turn it on or off and choose which sections feed the daily word (free users: limited sections; Pro: full library). The word updates on a schedule you set in settings.

Yes. The Search tab finds words across General Words, Verbs, Adjectives, My Words, and Favorites. Results show context (e.g. verb vs. adjective vs. your own word) so you can jump straight to the right list.

The app includes a Home Screen widget for Word of the Day, a lock-screen flashcard widget, and (iOS 18+) a Control Center control to quick-add a word to My Words. Widgets stay in sync with the main app via shared app data.

Yes, optionally. In Settings → iCloud you can enable sync so translations, favorites, spaced-repetition progress, and My Words can sync across your Apple devices via iCloud. You must be signed in to the same Apple ID with iCloud enabled. Course content (JSON vocabulary) is built into the app; your personal learning data is what syncs.

The app interface is available in German and English (Settings → App Language). Vocabulary content is in German, with translations and learning aids suited for B2 professional German.

Hero Pro is available as monthly or yearly subscription (yearly may include a free trial — see the App Store), or as a one-time lifetime purchase. Payment is handled by Apple; manage or cancel under Settings → Your plan or in the App Store → Subscriptions. Use Restore Purchase if you reinstall or change devices.
